Stourbridge Running Club took a contingent of runners and campers to Tywyn in Wales for Race the Train this weekend.

Runners covered a variety of distances, all including extreme hills, some with cambers, mud, water, barbed wire and uneven terrain throughout all made that little bit harder by the torrential rain the night before.

In the morning races, Helen Evans took on the Dolgoch Challenge
completing the 5 mile course in 50m 42s, while in the Quarry Challenge, Ann Kite finished the 10km course in 58m 40s, followed by Jamie Taylor in 1h 00m 42s and Bob Hopkins in 1h 07m 04s.

In the Rotary Challenge, runners had to complete 14 miles. The morning runners were able to cheer on the runners from the comfort of the pub as the afternoon race passed through Tywyn High Street before heading for the hills. Robert Taylor was first home for Stourbridge in 1:50:40, followed by Chloe Pearson in 1:54:54, Steve Burch in 1:56:50, Rob Colman in 1:57:02, Rob Woodward in 2;01:26 and Paul Bradley in 2:33:11.
