Stourbridge Running Club just had the one runner out this weekend. Bob Hopkins took part in the Cotswold 24 hour race. This event takes part at the Bathurst estate in Cirencester and can be run solo or as a team. The multi-terrain course is a 5.5 mile loop which each team or runner aims to complete as many laps as possible in 24 hours. Bob entered as a solo runner and was aiming for 100 miles but set off a little too fast and after 10 hours started to struggle and was unable to keep up the pace necessary. Bob pulled out just after midnight having completed 55 miles in 12.04 and though he was still ahead of schedule, was fading fast and retired knowing he would not achieve his target.
